GREATER LOWELL TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has required that all Technical Schools in Massachusetts utilize a point total Admissions Process to ensure equity. On March 21, 1997, the Greater Lowell Technical High School District Committee adopted the following Admissions Procedure for all students who seek enrollment.

All applicants seeking enrollment must complete a Greater Lowell Technical High School - Admissions Application which must be signed by a parent/guardian and the student's Principal/Assistant Principal. The student's Seventh (7th) and Eighth (8th) Grade Transcript Report Cards must be attached to the application. A student's application will not be considered for enrollment without the appropriate signatures and grade report.

Each student will be awarded points based upon Attendance, Discipline, Academic Achievement and the local Guidance Counselor's Recommendation. The following is the point system which covers four quarters of the seventh grade and the first quarter of the eighth grade.

A. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Student point totals will be based upon the cumulative average of Seventh (7th) Grade (4 quarters) and Eighth (8th) Grade (1st quarter), (5 quarters in all) English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Allied Sciences.
