What is CSL?

Community Service Learning projects provide active participation in a well organized service experience that ensures the following:

• Enhances what is taught by extending the student learning beyond the classroom

• Coordinated educational collaboration with Greater Lowell Technical High School and the Greater Lowell Community

• Provides students with the opportunities to use newly acquired academic skills and knowledge in real life situations in communities where they are comfortable

• Ensures that every project is educationally sound, integrates directly into the academic curriculum and meets the guidelines set by the Massachusetts State Frameworks

• Provides an opportunity for students to critically think through problems, write about what they accomplished and share their experiences

• Helps to foster the development of community responsibility through volunteerism
