Student of the Month Junior student Jessica Nowak was chosen Junior Sudent of the Month. Jessica is a resident of Dracut involved in our Cosmetology Program. She participates in our softball program. She has received awards for perfect attendance, SkillsUSA-2nd place (under 500 hours) and is a member of the National Honor Society. Her hobbies include going to the movies, shopping, spending time with friends and snowmobiling. Her future plans are to attend college and continue with her cosmetology career. Sara Ardila has been chosen Sophomore Student of the Month. Sara is a resident of Lowell entering from the Bartlett Junior High School. Sara is an honor roll student involved in our Medical Assistant Program. She is a member of the tennis and swim teams. Sara is a member of the Outing Club, participates in Spanish and is part of the election commission. She has won awards in Medical Assistant and Second Place in the CAC doubles championship. She works at Dunkin Donuts and volunteers at Sts. Medical Hospital in the summer. Sara’s hobbies include reading, text messaging and being with friends. Her future plans are to attend college and perhaps become a pediatrician. Freshman student Vanneyra Chum is one of two freshmen chosen Student of the Month. Vanneyra is a resident of Lowell entering from the Daley Junior High School. She participates in Spanish, Community Service and the Freshman Planning Committee. She is a high honor student, also. Vanneyra enjoys playing sports and adventuring into new things. Her future plans are to help our school be a place all students would like to attend. Vanneyra is a hard working student who someday hopes to help the world. Chad Crowther is the second Freshman Student of the Month. Chad is also from Lowell and attended the Daley Junior High School. He is an honor roll student and participates in cross country as well as basketball. He earned an award from the Bedford VA for volunteering over 100 hours. Chad also works at Market Basket. His hobbies include playing sports, watching TV, working and being with friends. His future plans are to attend college.
April 2008 Senior student Shawna Denn has been chosen Senior Student of the Month. Shawna entered from Lakeview Junior High. Shawna is a resident of Dracut involved in our Health Assistant Program. She is a member of the tennis team, swim team and soccer team. Shawna has received awards in tennis MVP for senior year, CAC mixed doubles champion, booster and most improved tennis player. Shawna is a member of the National Honor Society both her junior and senior year. She is high honor roll student ranked 14th in the senior class. During her time off she works as Scola’s s well as Chelmsford Crossing. She enjoys playing tennis, going to the beach and shopping. Shawna’s future plans are to attend UMass/Dartmouth to become an RN. Junior student Winifred Kabue has been chosen Junior Student of the Month. Winifred is a resident of Lowell entering from the Bartlett Junior High. She is in our Medical Program. She is a member of the SkillsUSA Chapter Executive Parliamentarian Team where she won a State Conference Medal in 2008. She also won the Leader Award at the State Conference. Outside of school Wini babysits, volunteers, reads, plays sports and dances. Her future plans are to become a forensic scientist. Sophomore student Kathryn Chapman has been chosen as Sophomore Student of the Month. Kathryn is a resident of Lowell and entered from St. Margaret’s School. She is a high honor student involved in our CADD Shop. Kathryn has been involved in soccer, basketball, track and tennis. She is the Sophomore Vice President and has worked on the UMass/Lowell ATDF Project. Kathryn has received awards in CADD, Perfect Attendance from the school and was ranked 5th freshman year. Her activities include being part of the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Patrol Unit and Soccer Referee. Kathryn enjoys babysitting, playing sports, skiing and being with family and friends. Her future plans are to attend college, study engineering, and join the U.S. Air Force. Freshman student Rachel Garabedian was chosen Freshman Student of the Month. Rachel is a resident of Lowell entering from St. Louis. Rachel played varsity soccer, varsity softball and JV basketball. She received the Booster Award in basketball. Rachel enjoys playing sports and having fun with friends. Her future plans are to attend college and become successful.
Senior Student of the Month is Brian Silva. Brian is a resident of Lowell entering from the Rogers Junior High School. He is involved in our Masonry Program. Brian was a member of the very successful Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team, where he was voted Most Improved Player in 2006-2007. He works at Market Basket in his spare time. Brian’s hobbies include playing soccer and working out. His future plans are to attend college and obtain a business degree. Junior student Justin Quadros is the junior Student of the Month. Justin is a resident of Lowell entering from Sullivan Middle School and involved in our Electrical Program. Justin is an honor roll student and is a member of SkillsUSA. He also played on our football team. Justin has received awards in electrical, physical education and project adventure. His hobbies include playing sports and being with family and friends. Justin’s future plans are to obtain his journeyman’s license as an electrician. Sophomore student Angelica Lord has been chosen sophomore Student of the Month. Angelica is a resident of Lowell entering from the Butler Junior High School. Angelica is involved in our Cosmetology Program. She has received awards for cosmetology and was nominated for People to People Student Ambassador Program. She lists her hobbies as cooking and working out. Angelica is also a certified lifeguard. Her future plans include obtaining her cosmetology license and obtaining a degree in accounting. Angelica also hopes to become a massage therapist. Freshman student Brian Lord has been chosen freshman Student of the Month. Brian is a resident of Tyngsboro and entered from Tyngsboro Junior High School. He is an honor roll student. He is on the JV baseball team and teaches CCD. His hobbies include baseball and skateboarding. Brian’s future plans are to become a carpenter. February 2008 Senior student Megan Loiselle has been chosen senior student of the month. Megan is a resident of Tyngsboro involved in our Fashion Technology Program. Megan entered Greater Lowell from Tyngsboro Middle School. She has been a member of our very successful girls’ soccer program having won defensive MVP, MVP, captain and Commonwealth Athletic Conference All-Star 3 times. Megan is a member of the Yearbook and Planning Committees and was voted Senior Class Secretary this year. She has also received honor roll achievement, U.S. History Achievement, SkillsUSA participant, and In-House Competitor as well as participating in the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk. Her hobbies include soccer, babysitting, cheerleading, tumbling and gymnastics. She currently works at the Butterfly Place and her future plans are to attend college and work with endangered species. Jeff Morrissette has been chosen junior student of the month. Jeff is a resident of Lowell involved in our Office Technology Program. He entered from St. Jeanne D’Arc School. Jeff is also a former winner of student of the month having won his freshman year. Jeff has been involved in SkillsUSA, Student Council as Treasurer and Business Club Vice President. He was also ranked 7th in the sophomore class and is currently ranked 6th in the junior class. Jeff has worked as a Lowell Sun Carrier and with the Parks and Recreation Department. He has been a participant of our Kane Floor Hockey Tournament and lists hockey, baseball and Play Station 3 as his hobbies. Jeff’s future plans include graduating in the top 5 of his class and going to a four-year college. Sophomore student Timothy Clark has been chosen sophomore student of the month. Tim is a resident of Lowell involved in our Metal Fabrication Program. He entered from the Immaculate School. Tim has participated on the wrestling and soccer teams at Greater Lowell. He has participated in SkillsUSA and Computer Club. He is currently ranked 4th in the sophomore class. Tim also has five (5) years perfect attendance. Out of school he lists his hobbies as dirt bikes, working out and being a Lowell YMCA leader. His future plans are to attend college and start a family. Freshman student Dustin Decker is freshman student of the month. Dustin is a resident of Dracut. He entered Greater Lowell from St. Jeanne D’Arc School. Dustin was also a member of our freshman football team. He is a member of the Pelham Fish and Game Club and participates in Spanish after school. Dustin’s hobbies include hanging out with friends, riding bikes, playing sports, fishing, camping, listening to music and working on computers. He is a high honor student that hopes to enter our CADD shop next fall. January 2008 Senior student, Ryan Wolff has been chosen as co/senior student of the month. Ryan is a resident of Lowell involved in our Automotive Technology Program. Ryan entered from the Robinson Junior High School. Ryan has been involved in the football program in grades 9 – 12 where he has received the “Twelth Man Award.” He was also involved in our track and field program. Ryan was also a SkillsUSA qualifier. He was the 4th ranked student his freshman year and also had perfect attendance. Ryan is part of our co-op program and is employed by Bill DeLuca Chevy, Jeep, Dodge. In his free time, he enjoys playing football and baseball. He also enjoys paintballing. Ryan’s future plans are to attend a 4-year college. Senior student, Mallorie Cantwell has been chosen as co/senior student of the month. Mallorie is a resident of Lowell who entered from the Rogers School. Mallorie is a part of our Transitional Occupational Program here at Greater Lowell. She is on the honor roll and has good work experience. Mallorie’s work experience includes transitional training at 3 places including Archambault Towers, CTI and Summer Place where she socializes, works in communication, and works in the classroom. Mallorie also works for Aramark at Greater Lowell. In Mallorie’s free time, she enjoys talking on the phone, watching TV, going on the computer, and swimming. Mallorie loves school. Junior student, Joshua Marquis has been chosen junior student of the month. Joshua is a resident of Dracut involved in our Culinary Arts Program. He entered from the Lakeview Junior High School. Joshua participated in community service in environmental science. In his free time he enjoys playing video games and cooking. Joshua’s future plans include going to college. Sophomore student, Vanessa Coelho has been chosen sophomore student of the month. Vanessa is a resident of Lowell involved in our Marketing Education Program. Vanessa entered from the Sullivan School. She has been involved in our girls varsity soccer team and won an award for outstanding achievement this past fall. Vanessa also received awards for 10th ranking student freshman year and outstanding achievement award in marketing. She also plays the accordion and won the Student of the Year Award in that. In Vanessa’s free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, joking around, and playing soccer. Her future plans are to go to college and get a good job as a banker or human resource officer. Freshman student, Andrew Vega has been chosen freshman student of the month. Andrew is a resident of Lowell entering from the Wang School. He plans on going into the programming and design shop. Andrew is a high honors student and participates in our after school Spanish class. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, using the computer, reading, riding his bike and cooking. Andrew is also very involved in his church and one day hopes to either be a Baptist publisher or an elder of his congregation. Andrew would also like to be a chef.
December 2007 Senior student, Scott Wright has been chosen senior student of the month for December. Scott is a resident of Lowell and is involved in our Electronics Shop here at Greater Lowell. Scott entered from the Butler Junior High School. He is a member of our basketball team. Scott has received many awards here at Greater Lowell including top student in electronics both his sophomore and junior years and the outstanding achievement award in physics. He is also a member of the National Honor Society and received the Adams Scholarship. In Scott’s free time he enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with friends. His future plans are to get a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in electrical engineering at UMass Lowell. Junior student, Mark Demaree has been chosen junior student of the month for December. Mark is a resident of Lowell entering from the Daley Junior High School. Mark is a member of the Electronics Shop. He is currently part of Greater Lowell’s botball team. Mark was ranked 5th in his sophomore class last year and currently has high honors. His hobbies include socializing and making friends as well as experiment and working on computers. Mark’s future plans are to attend either UMass Lowell or Clarkson for engineering and becoming an engineer and inventor. He would also like to own a dairy farm. Sophomore student, Andreia Cesar has been chosen sophomore student of the month for December. She is a resident of Lowell and is involved in our Office Technology Shop here at Greater Lowell. Andreia entered from the Rogers Junior High School. She is part of the Business Professionals of America. Andreia has won awards in CADD, English, biology, and office technology. She is also on the honor roll. Andreia enjoys listening to music, chatting on the phone, shopping and cycling in her free time. Her future plans are to go to a four year college. Freshman student, Tayla Mayo has been chosen freshman student of the month for December. Tayla is a resident of Dracut entering from the Lakeview Junior High School. Tayla played for our volleyball team in the fall and is now playing for our basketball team. She also plans on trying out for our track and field team here at Greater Lowell in the spring. Tayla baby-sits and in her free time likes to be with friends and family. She also enjoys sports. Tayla’s future plans are to go to a four year college.
November 2007 Senior student, Katherine Tamayo has been chosen senior student of the month. She is an Honor Roll student and ranked #10 in her senior class. She entered from the Sullivan Middle School. Katherine is a resident of Lowell involved in our Medical Assistant Program. Katherine is a Skills USA officer and chapter treasurer. She is also part of the homecoming court and the fashion show here Greater Lowell. She has received awards including the Adams Scholars and National Technical Honor Society. Katherine received the bronze medal in the in-house competition for Skills USA. Katherine is employed as a waitress at IHop. In her free time she enjoys dancing and spending time with friends and family. Katherine’s future plans are to go to UMass Lowell, to become a registered nurse and then specialize as a neonatal nurse. Junior student, Courtney Everett has been chosen junior student of the month. She is an Honor Roll student and she entered from St. Margaret’s. She is a resident of Lowell involved in our Culinary Arts Program. Courtney is a member of our cross country, swimming and track team. She has won awards for most improved player for cross country and track and 12th place state vocational champ for cross country. Courtney has also won the chef’s award for mystery basket and first place in the in-house competition for Skills USA. She also won Outstanding Achievement Award in Culinary. Courtney participates in the planning committee and drama club at school. Out of school Courtney is employed at Robins Nest Daycare Center and volunteers at Wentworth Nursing Care Center. Her hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, and running. Courtney’s future plans include attending Johnson and Whales for baking and one day owning her own catering company. Sophomore student, Jonathan Hickey has been chosen sophomore student of the month. He received High Honors this semester and entered from the Sullivan Middle School. He is a resident of Lowell involved in our Carpentry Shop. He is a member of our football team. Jonathan also takes part in Skills USA. He has received awards for honor roll, perfect attendance, and social studies. In Jonathan’s free time he watches his little brother, coach’s floor hockey for younger children, eats, sleeps, runs, and works out. Jonathan’s future plans include going to college and becoming successful in carpentry. Freshman student, Dylan Miller has been chosen freshman student of the month. He is a resident of Lowell, entering from the Robinson School. He plans on entering the Culinary Shop. Out of school Dylan is involved with the Centraville Basketball Association. His hobbies include skateboarding, video games, and basketball. Dylan’s future plans include going to college, owning his own restaurant and becoming a master chef.
October 2007 Senior student Nick Pelletier, has been chosen Senior Student of the Month for the month of October, 2007. Nick is a resident of Lowell involved in our Metal Fabrication Shop. Nick entered from Lakeview Junior High School in Dracut. He has been involved in our baseball program as well as intramural floor hockey, basketball and softball (Champion). Nick is a member of SkillsUSA and on COOP during his shop week at Greater Lowell. He is involved in his church, he is an honor roll student (4 years), and he was captain for the Greater Lowell Junior Firefighter Explorer Program. Other activities Nick has been involved in include playing sports for the city, attending a mission trip to rebuild New Orleans and free throw contest winner for his church. Nick’s future plans are to attend Middlesex College, take firefighter’s courses and become a firefighter. Junior student, Vania Perez has been chosen Junior Student of the Month. Vania is a resident of Lowell, entering from the Bartlett Junior High School and a second time winner of the Student of the Month. Vania was a member of the tennis team receiving an outstanding achievement award. Vania is the Chapter Cardinal for SkillsUSA and is a member of the Medical Assistant Program at Greater Lowell. Vania is a high honor student was ranked #3 in her sophomore year. Vania has received awards in physical education, medical and science. Her hobbies include going to the beach, shopping, reading and collecting Hello Kitty decorations. Vania’s future plans are to become an OR nurse. Sophomore student, Chris Pousland has been chosen Sophomore Student of the Month. Chris is a resident of Lowell entering from the Sullivan Middle School. He is also involved in our Masonry Program at Greater Lowell. He is a member of our football, basketball and baseball programs. He received the Booster Award in basketball as well as Perfect Attendance last year. Chris’s future plans are to become a mason and open his own business with his brother, Billy. Freshman student, Amanda Pang has been chosen Freshman Student of the Month. Amanda is a resident of Lowell entering from the Butler Junior High School. Amanda had an incredible, undefeated fall season as the starting goalie during the regular season, Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team. She was picked as a league all-star on a team that qualified for the State Tournament as well as Vocational Runners-up. She lists basketball and soccer as her hobbies. Amanda’s shop is still undecided, but she hopes to someday go to college.
September 2007 Senior student Amanda Sullivan has been chosen as senior student of the month for September. Amanda is a resident of Tyngsboro involved in our Medical Shop. Amanda entered from Tyngsboro Jr./Sr. High School. Amanda is the Captain of the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team, a booster award winner in cheerleading and a member of the Track and Field Team. She is a member of SkillsUSA as well as the Planning Committee. As a junior, Amanda was ranked #10 in the class, was a member of the National Honor Society, received the Physical Education Award, Anatomy and Physiology Award and also received the Junior Class Award for Outstanding Involvement. Amanda works at Skate 3 and lists shopping, hanging with friends and the beach as her hobbies. Her future plans are to become a nurse. Senior student Jessica Raffaelo has been chosen second senior for the month of September. Jessica is a resident of Lowell also involved in our Medical Shop. She entered from the Sullivan Middle School and has been chosen a second time as Greater Lowell’s student of the month. Jessica has been a member of the Girls’ JV Soccer Team and was part of the team that broke the 4 x 400 team track record in the spring. During Jessica’s junior year she was ranked #2 in her class and received the top Chemistry Award. She is also a member of SkillsUSA and the National Honor Society. She works at Kaybee Toys. She lists running, shopping and hanging out with friends as her hobbies. Jessica hopes to some day become a forensic scientist. Junior student Samronney Chan has been chosen as the junior student of the month. Samronney is a resident of Lowell entering from Butler Junior High. He is a member of the Graphics Shop. Samronney is also a member of SkillsUSA where he won the silver medal in Advertising Design during an in-house competition in 2006. In 2007, he won Honorable Mention for the Boston Globe Show, Second Place in the Marty Meehan Congressional District Art Contest and an illustration chosen for the Greater Lowell calendar. Samronney lists sports, drawing and hanging out with friends as his hobbies. His future plans are to attend college. Sophomore student Joshua Bradbury has been chosen as sophomore student of the month. Joshua is a resident of Lowell entering from the Murdock Middle School in Chelmsford. He is a member of the Office Technology Shop. Last year Joshua received the Office Technology Shop Award as well as second place in the IMAX film review competition. Joshua enjoys going to community service trips with his church as well as playing football, basketball, volleyball, the computer and hanging with his friends. After graduation, he plans on attending college for software engineering then attending a Bible seminary to become a pastor.
