15 % Facial and day make-up:
Sanitation, 14 massage movements and creative application of make-up.
Time: 30 Minutes
9 % Hair coloring (mock):
Touch-up, refreshment of color, foil frosting and understanding of bleeding.
Time: 30 minutes
9 % Hair cutting (mock):
Sectioning, guideline, scissor blunting and effilating, razor blunting and thinning, single and double notched thinning shears.
Time: 30 minutes
13 % Permanent waving (mock):
Safety, relation of perm rod to width and thickness of hair, application of lotion and test curls.
Time: 30 minutes
45 % Hair styling:
Blow dry and curling iron set on entire head for a casual day style, which will then be teased and pinned into a French twist, finger waving, hair shapings (forward and reverse), open and closed end of shapings, carved (sculptured) curls molded in shapings without disturbing the shaping (beginning at the open end), ridge curls under a finger wave, fill-in curls blending carved curls and fingerwaves, roller construction consisting of full volume (on base).
Time: 90 minutes
9 % Manicuring:
Sanitation, safety and artistic application of polish.
Time: 30 minutes
CANDIDATE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING
UNIFORM (Candidate will not be tested unless a clean, professional uniform (smock), and low heeled shoes are worn and all materials listed are brought to the test site. No borrowing from other Candidates or Examiners at the test site will be allowed.)

Cleansing and massage creams, astringent, alcohol, tissues (along with facial sponges, if desired), sufficient towels, neck strips, a shampoo cape, clamps, hair and bobby pins. Also, the following supplies are needed for a day make-up: assorted make-up brushes and/or applicators, spatulas, moisturizer, foundation, blush, face powder, eye color, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, eye highlighter, eye shadow, mascara with disposable brushes or cotton-tipped applicators, lip brush and lip color.
Hair cutting scissors, thinning shears, razor, combs, brushes, shampoo, conditioner and setting lotion.
Hair coloring applicator bottle or tint brush and bowl. A gel (thinned with water) for mock hair color and mock perm waving lotion along with end papers, permanent waving rods, cotton strip, bottles for permanent waving lotion and neutralizer, water spray bottle, blow dryer, protective cream, curling iron, hair clips, rollers, round brushes, hair spray, comb-out cape, all manicuring supplies and aluminum foil long and wide enough for five examples of foil highlighting. (Gloves must be worn while all real or mock chemical services are performed.)
Live model (WHO MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE AND MUST NOT BE A LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST OR MANICURIST) with hair no longer than a few inches below the nape and ears. Hair must be long enough to comb and tease into a French twist but not so long that fingerwaves, hair shapings, carved (sculptured) curls, ridge curls, and fill-in curls can not be completed. The model must also have natural nails (no tips, ACRYLIC, or gels) AND NAILS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY PREPARED.
ANY CANDIDATE WHO BRINGS A MODEL NOT FITTING THE GUIDELINES LISTED ABOVE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PASS THIS EXAMINATION.
