WRITTEN EXAM - 100 QUESTIONS

 

TIME ALLOWED: 3 HOURS

THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION IS ALIGNED WITH THE MATCHING MASSACHUSETTS VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL EDUCATOR FRAMEWORKS.  SOME QUESTIONS REQUIRE A SYNTHESIS OF KNOWLEDGE BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE AND MAY NOT BE FOUND IN ANY BOOK. HOWEVER, CANDIDATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO STUDY FOR THEIR EXAMS BY REVIEWING CURRENT TEXTBOOKS AND REFERENCE MATERIAL WHICH CAN USUALLY BE FOUND IN THE LIBRARIES OF MOST VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOLS AND SCHOOLS WHICH OFFER CHAPTER 74 PROGRAMS.

The written exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions.  Each question consists of one incomplete sentence or a questions followed by four choices.  Listed below are several sample items:

PERFORMANCE EXAM

 

TIME ALLOWED: 4 HOURS

 

PERCENT OF TEST:

 

21 % Logo Development

 

-With supplies provided, render hand drawn thumbnails and quality roughs for an 

 advertisement in color.

 

35 % Layout and Design

 

-Produce professional quality hand rendered thumbnails for an advertisement. 

 2 quality roughs and final  layout for ad.

 

19 % Ad Web Animation

 

-Create hand rendered storyboards in color for web banner using the computer.  Create

 professional quality animated banner.

 

25 % Ad Web Development

 

      -Create a two page web ad containing an animated banner, logo photographs, text and

       final, must be previewed in a web banner.

PLEASE NOTE: All work will be completed on the Mac computer and saved on the computer in the appropriate folders.  Paper and drawing materials will be provided for a portion of the test.
