Topic:   Right Triangle Trigonometry
Essential Question: How would you explain the process of solving a right triangle?
Culminating Task:  You will create a poster illustrating the three trigonometric ratios.

Performance Objectives:

    1. Given a series of right triangles, you will accurately label the adjacent side, opposite side and hypotenuse.
    2. Given a series of angle measurements, you will use a scientific calculator to find their trigonometric values.
    3. Given a series of trigonometric values, you will find the angle measurement to the nearest tenth of a degree.
    4. Given a series of right triangles, you will find the missing angle and/or side measure for each triangle.

The Performance Objectives are aligned with the following MCAS standards:

Content Area   Standards
Geometry     12.G.1 Define the sine, cosine, and tangent of an acute  angle.   Apply to the solution of problems.
ELA   Students will understand and acquire new vocabulary, and use it correctly in reading and   writing.
ELA      19   Students will write with a clear focus, coherent organization, and sufficient detail.
ELA     22  Students will use knowledge of standard English conventions in their writing, revising, and editing.
