Adult Skills Training Programs - Career Tech Initiative (CTI)

Career Technical Initiative
The Career Technical Initiative is an initiative by the Workforce Skills Cabinet (WSC). It addresses the persistent demand for skilled labor within the construction/skilled trades and manufacturing sectors across the Commonwealth.
Commonwealth Corporation, a quasi-public state agency under the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD), administers CTI on behalf of the WSC and fosters partnerships between industry, education, and workforce organizations through grant funding.
CTI develops talent pipelines to meet the skills needs of businesses in high-demand occupations in construction/skilled trades and manufacturing by expanding capacity and leveraging existing facilities and equipment of designated Chapter 74 Programs to provide adult training in evenings and/or weekends to unemployed and underemployed Massachusetts residents.
The CTI model requires and fosters collaboration between Greater Lowell Technical High School, MassHireLowell Career Center, and MassHire Greater Lowell Workforce Board. This partnership facilitates employer engagement, alignment of training programs with local workforce demands, targeted recruitment of individuals seeking pertinent skills, and assistance with their job placement following graduation.
When grant-funded programs become available, we will post information here on our website.
