TYNGSBORO — Greater Lowell Technical High School was awarded a $1 million Skills Capital Grant by the Healey-Driscoll administration.

Greater Lowell Tech received a Lab Modernization/Expansion Grant on Oct. 22 during a ceremony held at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.

The funding will be used toward the expansion of the school’s Electrical Program to accommodate more students and funding state-of-the-art equipment and resources. By securing the funding, GLTHS will help bridge the skills gap and ensure that program graduates are ready to meet the growing demands of the electrical field.

The Workforce Skills Cabinet, which awarded the funding, has identified electrical occupations as a priority in its Northeast Labor Market Blueprint, and GLTHS has seen this reflected in the increasing student interest in the school’s electrical program.

“I would like to thank the Healey-Driscoll Administration for awarding us this funding, which will allow us to expand our Electrical program,” said Superintendent Jill Davis. “Through continued investment and support, we can maintain and elevate the strength of the electrical industry and create pathways to success for our students. Once again, thank you for your trust in our mission and for helping us prepare the next generation of skilled workers.”
