TYNGSBORO — The following have been selected Students of the Month for November 2024. Each of these students has displayed the characteristics of Greater Lowell Technical High School’s core values, R.E.A.C.H., by showing Respect, Effort, Accountability, Commitment, and Honesty in their classes and among their peers. These students also reflect Greater Lowell’s mission to ensure students’ readiness for career, college, and citizenship in the 21st century.
November 2024
Justin Snguon, a senior from Dracut, entered Greater Lowell from the Stoklosa Middle School. Justin is majoring in Computer Aided Drafting and Design and maintains an overall GPA of 4.11. He is pursuing a rigorous curriculum that includes Advanced Placement Physics, Early College Precalculus, Early College Engineering and Ethics, and Early College Introduction to Engineering. In addition, Justin had the opportunity to work on the Lowell High School Expansion Project through a construction management internship with Suffolk Construction. Justin has earned awards for honor roll and high honor roll, in addition to the Massachusetts Student Achievement Award. He is currently employed at Mammoth Fire Alarms in Lowell as a CADD technician through the cooperative education program. Justin is a member of the varsity volleyball team where he received the Coach’s Award in 2022, and, outside of school, participated in the East Movement Basketball Tournament. Justin was nominated as a student who embodies the core values of Effort and Commitment. He is described by his technical instructor as a student who maintains high academic standards while truly exemplifying the core values every day. Following graduation, Justin plans to attend UMass Lowell to major in mechanical engineering and pursue a career in automotive engineering.
Kitryc Virak, a junior from Lowell, entered Greater Lowell from the Stoklosa Middle School. Kitryc is majoring in Information Technology Services and is ranked fifth in his class with an overall GPA of 4.45. Kitryc is pursuing a challenging academic schedule which includes Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, Advanced Placement Physics, and Early College Precalculus. He has earned a total of 28 technical certifications including Security Pro, Google Cybersecurity, IT Specialist- Software Development, and IT Specialist- Artificial Intelligence. Kitryc is a member of SkillsUSA, the National Honor Society/National Technical Honor Society, and the Competitive Gaming Club. He has received awards for honor roll, high honor roll, Outstanding Achievement in Information Technology, and perfect attendance for all three years of high school. In addition, Kitryc has medaled on the in-house and district level in SkillsUSA technical competitions including Internetworking, Computer Programming, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Internet of Things, Technical Computer Applications, and Web Design. Outside of school, he works as a cashier at Market Basket on Chelmsford Street in Lowell. Kitryc was nominated as a student who demonstrates the core values of Respect, Effort, and Accountability. He is described by his instructor as a respectful, focused student who excels in his technical studies while still taking time to help those around him. Following graduation, Kitryc plans to attend UMass Amherst and pursue a degree in computer science with a minor in mathematics.
Arleth Melo, a sophomore from Lowell, entered Greater Lowell from the Robinson Middle School. Arleth is majoring in Health Assisting/Pre-Nursing and maintains a GPA of 3.63. She pursues an honors-level academic schedule which includes Honors English, Honors Geometry, Honors US History 2, and Honors Chemistry. Arleth is a member of SkillsUSA and a former member of the SkillsUSA Freshmen Program and Student Council. She is also active with Educators Rising and serves as a Student Ambassador assisting with schoolwide events. She has received awards for honor roll and outstanding participation in SkillsUSA. Outside of school, Arleth enjoys reading and spending time with friends. She was nominated as a student who demonstrates the core values of Respect, Effort, and Commitment. She is described as a student who exemplifies a commitment to continuous improvement and respect for others. Following graduation, Arleth plans to continue her education and pursue a career as a travel nurse.
Mia Estrada-Berrios, a freshman from Tyngsboro, entered Greater Lowell from the Tyngsboro Middle School. Mia had a strong first term at Greater Lowell, achieving honor roll grades in all academic and technical classes. She is a member of the SkillsUSA Freshmen Program, the cross country team, and the Jesus Club Pilot Program. In middle school, Mia was active in cheerleading and received regional, state, and national cheerleading awards. Mia is in the process of completing pre-coursework in all 23 technical areas, including Medical Laboratory and Assisting, Engineering Technology, and Painting and Design Technology. While Mia is still exploring programs, she is hoping to pursue Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) as a major. Mia was nominated as a student who embraces the core values of Respect and Effort. She is described as a conscientious student who is hard-working, dedicated and approaches new situations with a positive, can-do attitude. Following graduation, Mia hopes to continue her education and pursue a career in architecture.

Thar Mu Hser, a senior from Dracut, entered Greater Lowell from the Robinson Middle School. Thar is majoring in Information Technology Services and maintains an overall GPA of 4.39. She is pursuing a rigorous curriculum that includes Advanced Placement Physics, Advanced Placement Computer Science A, Honors English, and Early College Precalculus. Thar has earned awards for Science Fair Achievement, honor roll, high honor roll, and perfect attendance. She is an active member of SkillsUSA, the Robotics Club, and serves as president of the National Honor Society/National Technical Honor Society. Thar is extremely active in serving her community and works with the Lowell Housing Authority to help residents with voting and financial needs, volunteers with the Coalition for a Better Acre monthly CHOP Dinners, translates S’gaw Karen, a Sino-Tibetan language, when needed in doctors’ offices and hospitals; she also assists at her church. Thar was nominated as a student who embodies the core values of Honesty, Accountability, and Commitment. She is described by her technical instructor as a committed, hardworking student who comes to school every day with a smile and a positive attitude. Following graduation, Thar plans to attend Boston University and major in chemistry.
Lucas Norton, a junior from Tyngsboro, entered Greater Lowell from the Tyngsboro Middle School. Lucas is majoring in Automotive Technology and maintains a GPA of 4.15. He is pursuing a challenging schedule that includes Honors English, Honors Precalculus, and Advanced Placement Physics. Lucas has received awards for honor roll, high honor roll, perfect attendance, and Outstanding Achievement in Automotive Technology. He is a member of the junior varsity tennis team and a member of the Music Club. Lucas and his band, Squid Baptism, were featured as the opening act in the 2024 Greater Lowell Holiday Show Production. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time fishing and playing guitar. Lucas was nominated as a student who demonstrates the core values of Respect, Effort, and Accountability. He is described by his technical instructors as an exemplary student who makes a positive contribution to both his shop and his school community. Following graduation, Lucas plans to continue in the automotive field specializing in diesel mechanics working with big rigs, heavy equipment, or trains.
Julia Dunfey, a sophomore from Lowell, entered Greater Lowell from the Wang Middle School. Julia is majoring in Masonry and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She pursues an honors-level academic schedule which includes Honors English, Honors Geometry, Honors Chemistry, and Honors US History 2. Julia is a devoted athlete who is a member of the junior varsity girls basketball and varsity lacrosse teams where she has earned awards for Defensive Player of the Year, Sun All-Star, CAC All-Star, and CAC Goalie of the Year. She has also received awards for high honor roll and perfect attendance. Outside of school, Julia is a member of the Bay State Bullets Lacrosse League and plays for the New England Rebels. In her free time, she enjoys coaching “bitty” lacrosse participants and assisting with league events. Julia was nominated as a student who demonstrates the core values of Effort, and Commitment. She is described by her technical instructor as a hard worker who consistently demonstrates outstanding effort and a high quality of work. Following graduation, Julia plans to study physical therapy and athletic training and pursue her dream of working for the Boston Celtics.
Gabrielle Ndivo, a freshman from Dracut, entered Greater Lowell from the Richardson Middle School. Gabrielle had a strong first term at Greater Lowell, achieving honor roll grades in all academic and technical classes. She is active in her community and participates in service activities with St. Paul’s Soup Kitchen and the Collinsville Bible Church. In middle school, Gabrielle was named Student of the Month and participated in the National Assessment of Education Progress. Gabrielle is in the process of completing pre-coursework in all 23 technical areas, including Advanced Manufacturing, Early Childhood Education, and Engineering Technology. While Gabrielle is still exploring programs, she is hoping to pursue Electrical as a major. Outside of school, Gabrielle participates in the Amateur Athletic Union Triple Threat Basketball Organization. She is a member of the junior varsity and varsity girls basketball teams, and, during middle school, played for the Dracut High School junior varsity basketball team. She was nominated as a student who embraces the Core Values of Respect, Commitment, and Honesty. She is described as a student who demonstrates outstanding effort to complete and improve upon her assignments while still being available to support her peers. Following graduation, Gabrielle hopes to continue her education and pursue a career in law enforcement.
