Lowell Catholic grabbed a quick lead, but it was all Greater Lowell Tech from there during a Thanksgiving football game Wednesday night in Chelmsford.

Led by quarterback MJ Camara, who tossed three touchdowns, the Gryphons captured a season-ending 40-6 victory over the Crusaders.

Camara went 13-for-17 through the air for 189 yards.

Lowell Catholic (4-7) got on the board first thanks to a 1-yard plunge by Shawn Hines. The two-point conversion try failed.

The Crusaders led 6-0 after one quarter, but Greater Lowell exploded for 18 points in the second quarter to take control. The Gryphons put the game away by scoring 14 points in the third quarter and adding eight more in the fourth.

Camara tossed three touchdown passes to lead the GLT (8-3) offense. Aviren Chitpaseuth got his team in the scoring column in the second quarter with a 22-yard run.

Camara tossed his first TD pass, connecting with Jayden Rosa on a 66-yard score, and then Camara hit Damien Jackman on a 9-yard scoring pass as the Gryphons led 18-6 after one half.

Chitpaseuth found the end zone again in the third on a 6-yard rush and Mauser Sencion added the two-point rush. Camara found Lennoxx Ramos with a 35-yard TD pass for his third strike. Christian Mcdonagh capped the scoring for the Tyngsboro school with a 10-yard rush.

Kyle Jarek added the conversion rush. The Gryphons racked up 414 total yards.

Chitpaseuth rushed for 160 yards on 20 carries, while Camara lugged the ball five times for 45 yards. Rosa caught three passes for 80 yards.

For Lowell Catholic, the leading ground gainers were Divine Burroughs (5-42) and Janzel Trinidad (7-34).
