Antoine Jackman is a student in Greater Lowell Tech’s Electrical Program, but he’s shown he’s pretty adept at history.

Jackman recently became the first All-American wrestler in program history with a strong showing at the NHSCA Wrestling High School Nationals in Virginia Beach, Va.

Wrestling in the sophomore division, Jackman won nine consecutive matches to advance to the third-place match.

Facing Cooper Sandoval of Reno, Nev., Jackman wrestled well before falling 8-6 in a tough decision. He went 10-2 to take fourth place at 106 pounds.

The Lowell resident won his opening match, but dropped his second, forcing him to go on an incredible run against some of the top wrestlers in the nation.

As a GLT sophomore, Jackman produced a fantastic winter season, compiling a 45-7 record to up his career mark to 98-13.

His season was highlighted by a second-place showing at the New England Championships. He was also second at Division 1 Sectionals and second at All-States. Jackman also placed third in Division 1.

Coach Tom Cassidy raved about Jackman all season.

“Antoine is not only a great wrestler he is great teammate. He will always help his teammates improve whether it’s words of encouragement or helping with a new wrestling move. Antoine is well loved and respected in the wrestling community for his personality and his performance; he is a true asset to the Greater Lowell community,” Cassidy said.
