Academic Programs

Greater Lowell Technical High School’s academic programs are thoughtfully designed to deliver high-quality instruction that prepares students for success in their future careers and studies. Each academic discipline, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education/Health, Science, and History/Social Science, offers an engaging and rigorous curriculum aimed at helping students achieve their full potential.

All core courses align with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, ensuring consistency with state standards and preparing students for success on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS).

Placement decisions are based on a variety of factors, including teacher recommendations, grades, district and state assessments, student interests, parent/guardian input, and the professional guidance of school counselors.

Academic levels offered at Greater Lowell Technical High School include:

Advanced Placement (AP)

Advanced Placement (AP) – Intended for highly motivated students who wish to take challenging college-level courses while in high school. Students that are planning on attending a two or four-year college will have the opportunity to experience a college-like class while receiving the support of highly qualified educators. Students who enroll in Advanced Placement courses are responsible for taking the AP College Board exam for that class.
