Reading
Greater Lowell Technical High School's Reading program is designed to enhance each student’s communication skills by developing effective reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities. The Reading program uses a reader-writer workshop model with a curriculum tailored to meet individual student needs, focusing on improving Lexile levels to ensure students are reading at or above high school standards. By addressing literacy gaps and strengthening comprehension, the program prepares students for the complex texts and critical thinking required for success in high school and beyond. Aligned with the English Language Arts standards of the Curriculum Frameworks, the program aims to build lifelong readers and communicators.
