Special Education

Under Chapter 766, the Massachusetts Special Education Law and Federal Law IDEA 2004, The Greater Lowell Technical High School Special Education Department offers a quality program and serves as a positive resource for the success of all students with disabilities under Individual Education Programs. The staff promotes the potential and ability of each special education student while addressing the services needed to enable each student to overcome his/her disability and achieve success in school, at work, and in the community.

Services include academic instruction in a resource setting, inclusion classes, and study skills support for academic instruction received in the general curriculum. In addition, related services such as speech therapy, individual and group problem-solving therapy, and adaptive physical education are available based on individual student needs. Full evaluation services are also provided.
