Graphic Design and Visual Communications
Students will examine many of the major areas of specialization in the graphic communication industry at an advanced level. They will describe effective workflow and production practices. They will be able to explain text and page composition, color science, vision, and printed color. Students will describe printing ink, substrates, and finishing and binding. They will be able to define the business of printing and careers in Graphic Communications Industries.
During their junior and senior years, the students will create multi-color tee shirts and note pads. Before graduation students will also create their own personalized deck of cards including the box for their final project. The program is a live print shop accepting work from internal and external customers. We will cover the following industry-recognized programs InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop as part of your education.
