Club Descriptions

Anime Club

Do you enjoy all things Anime? If so, then Anime Club is the place for you! Anime Club is a safe and welcoming space where you can explore Anime and Manga while having fun and meeting other students who share the same interests. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re just getting into anime or are an anime expert. If this sounds like the place for you, join us in watching and discussing all things anime, playing anime-themed games, making anime crafts, drawing, and more. We hope to see you there!

Art Club

Do you like to draw, paint, sculpt, create, or decorate? Are you looking for a place to express your creativity? Come to Art Club!  Art Club was created by students to provide an opportunity to explore art and craft forms beyond what is offered in the curriculum. It provides a safe place to explore the visual/creative arts and form connections with like-minded students. 
This club is open to students in all grades and all technical programs. 

Chess and Tabletop Gaming

Step away from the screen and into a world of strategy and fun.  Our Chess/Tabletop Gaming Club provides a relaxed, friendly environment where you can sharpen your mind with a game of chess, get creative with a role-playing adventure, or spend time with friends playing your favorite board games.  Whether you are a grandmaster, a complete beginner, or someone who loves classic games, our club offers a welcoming space for everyone to learn, play, and connect.

Competitive Gaming (eSports)

The Competitive Gaming club allows players of all skill levels to come together and play video games in a casual and competitive format. Members will take their gaming to the next level while learning leadership, sportsmanship, and communication skills. Games and chat rooms are monitored by an instructor/advisor, and all game ratings are screened for school appropriateness. 

Dance Club

Are you interested in Dance? If so, the GLTECH Dance Club is the place for you! Dancers of all ability levels are invited to join us in the Lecture Hall each week to learn different styles,  practice new skills, and develop routines for performances and competitions. Whether you're interested in Urban Dance, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary (or something else),  the Dance Club is the place for you. No experience necessary!

Drama Club

GLTHS Drama Club welcomes all student actors, performers, stagehands, and anyone interested in learning about theater! Drama Club meets once a week and prepares for the spring performance. From comedy to tragedy, improv to full-length plays, we do it all and have fun doing it! Join us for afternoons full of laughter and help create amazing high school memories.

Educators Rising

Educators Rising is a national student organization for students in all grades and all technical training programs. The purpose of the club is to support, encourage, and nurture young people who would like to enter the teaching profession after graduation.  Rising educators learn about the profession, explore career opportunities, and investigate the many pathways to becoming a qualified teacher. In addition, Educators Rising hosts a national conference which provides a unique opportunity for students to network, showcase their skills, and learn from accomplished educators in the field.

Environmental Club

The Environmental/Green Club at Greater Lowell is a service-based organization. The club works to create awareness of environmental issues, such as protection, conservation, preservation, and restoration, with an emphasis on educating and empowering students. Members also provide support and assistance to our school-wide recycling program.

Freshman Class Planning Committee

The Freshman Class Planning Committee coordinates and organizes social events and fundraisers with the assistance of an advisor. The purpose of the class committee is to foster a sense of community and strengthen the relationships among classmates. The goal of the committee is to enhance the experiences of students while they are enrolled at Greater Lowell.

GSA

The GLTHS Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a student-run club, which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and work to end homophobia and transphobia.

G.U.I.D.E.D.

G.U.I.D.E.D. (Grace, Unity, Identity, Devotion, Elevation, Deliverance) is a non-denominational student-led club for students who want to grow in their faith through discussion, service projects, focused study, and activities. Students of all faiths and beliefs are welcome. 

Jesus Club

The Jesus Club is a place to connect with friends, grow in faith, and encourage one another. Join us as we sing, worship, pray, and build a welcoming community of fellowship. All students and all faiths are welcome—come hear the Good News!

Junior Class Planning Committee

The Class Planning Committee coordinates and organizes social events and fundraisers with the assistance of an advisor. The purpose of the class committee is to foster a sense of community and strengthen the relationships among classmates. The goal of the committee is to enhance the experiences of students while they are enrolled at Greater Lowell. 

Math Club

Do you enjoy solving puzzles, cracking patterns, or thinking outside the box? Then join the Math Club! Come hang out with other curious minds, play math games, tackle fun problem-solving challenges, and get ready to represent our school at upcoming math competitions! Whether you’re a number ninja, a geometry genius, or just want to boost your skills — there’s a place for you here.

Model UN

Model United Nations (Model UN) allows students to step into the shoes of world leaders and diplomats, tackling real global issues through debate, problem-solving, and teamwork. Members build confidence in public speaking, sharpen critical thinking, and learn the art of negotiation while exploring political, social, and humanitarian challenges. Beyond regular meetings, students have the chance to compete in local and regional conferences against other schools, draft resolutions with new peers, and showcase their leadership skills. Field trip opportunities make the experience even more engaging, giving members the chance to connect with others, explore new places, and see diplomacy in action.

Music Club

The GL Tech Music Club provides students who like to sing or play instruments a chance to come together to play, sing, and perform. All instruments and vocal talents are welcome. If you've ever dreamed of performing in a talent show, coffee house, or open mic night, Music Club may be for you!  No experience necessary. Bring your own instrument or use one of ours!

The Music Club’s A Cappella Group is a student singing group that performs music without instrumental accompaniment—just voices creating melody, harmony, and rhythm. Members develop vocal technique, blend, and teamwork while arranging and performing songs together, combining creativity with collaboration.

NABT BioClub

Do you love nature, animals, science, and learning? BioClub may be right for you!
The NABT (National Association of Biology Teachers) BioClub supports and nurtures students with an interest in biological sciences.   Through outreach activities, the preparation of experiments, presentations, and events, students are able to interact with role models in the professional biology community,  participate in national NABT programs, and learn more about the natural world.

NTHS/NHS

The National Technical Honor Society/National Honor Society are merit-based community service organizations. Both societies are nationally recognized as an acknowledgement of student leaders in career and technical education. Thousands of schools and colleges throughout the U.S. have chapters on their campuses that work towards encouraging higher scholastic achievement, developing a desire for personal excellence, and helping top students find success in today's highly competitive workplace. NTHS/NHS membership is by invitation to qualifying Juniors and Seniors.  Members must commit to attending regular meetings, maintaining excellent grades and attendance, keeping a "clean" disciplinary record, and engaging in regular community service.

Outing Club

The Outing Club provides an opportunity for students to explore the outside world through activities, events, and experiences. Through adventures and outings, students have a unique opportunity to enjoy fun and educational experiences in the great outdoors. Past trips have included mountain hiking, whale watching, horseback riding, and rock climbing in the Greater Lowell area and beyond. For off-campus adventures, transportation is provided from the school to the outing and back.

Ping Pong Pilot Program

The Ping Pong Pilot Program is a trial program that provides an opportunity for students to explore the fun of table tennis! Through weekly games and open play, students have the opportunity to enjoy fun and social experiences in a supervised indoor setting. No experience necessary. Bring your own paddle or use one of ours!

Robotics Club

Are you interested in robots, drones, and other technology? If so, the Robotics Club may be for you! As a member of our club, you’ll be able to explore the latest technological advancements, build robots from the ground up, create Autonomous Robots applying Engineering strategies and using Reusable Components.  Students from all grades and technical programs are welcome! No experience necessary!

Senior Class Planning Committee

The Senior Class Planning Committee coordinates and organizes social events and fundraisers with the assistance of an advisor. The purpose of the class committee is to foster a sense of community and strengthen the relationships among classmates. The goal of the committee is to enhance the experiences of seniors during their final year at Greater Lowell. Our Senior Planning Committee will contribute to the planning of Homecoming, Senior Prom, Senior Week Activities and more!

SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. We provide educational programs, leadership development, events, and competitions that support career and technical education. (adapted from SkillsUSA.org) 

As a co-curricular activity, our program offerings are accessed during the school day, with optional special events after school. Students interested in participating in SkillsUSA should notify their shop/related instructor and be sure to attend general meetings for more information. Our meeting and monthly activity schedule is posted for students on the Student Activities SkillsUSA page. SkillsUSA School-wide Kick-Off will take place during the school day in October of each year! You don’t need to sign up! SkillsUSA Freshman Achievement Program

Our SkillsUSA Freshman Achievement Program offers 9th-grade students opportunities to learn about SkillsUSA in a smaller, more personalized setting. Through this program, students will participate in activities and events meant to develop their leadership and professional skills. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in local, state, and national competitions and conferences. 

Sophomore Class Planning Committee

The Sophomore Class Planning Committee coordinates and organizes social events and fundraisers with the assistance of an advisor. The purpose of the class committee is to foster a sense of community and strengthen the relationships among classmates. The goal of the committee is to enhance the experiences of students while they are enrolled at Greater Lowell.

Student Ambassadors

We are looking for student leaders to assist with school and community service events like Back to School Night, City of Lights Parade, Open House, 8th Grade Tours, and more!
Student Ambassadors choose the events they'd like to participate in, earn community service hours, and add great experience to their resumes. If you'd like to volunteer to become a student ambassador, join the Google Classroom and respond to any events of interest to you! 

Student Council

Student Council provides students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects, planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, and serving as the voice of the student body. 

Winged Poets (Poetry Club)

The Winged Poets is a safe, supportive place for students who write and (maybe) perform poetry. Or for people who dream of doing this? Have strong opinions or big emotions? Want to turn those into art! We'll provide companionship, applause, inspiration, and collaboration. There will be opportunities for those interested to compete on our slam team at regional and statewide poetry events. In the past, we've performed for the school and sent one student to the state slam poetry finals. We're a great group; the only thing missing is YOU.

Yearbook

The Yearbook Staff is comprised of students from all grade levels and technical areas to create the graduating class yearbook.  Students use the latest design software to design the yearbook's cover, page layouts, school event pages, photography, and much more! The Yearbook Staff provides students with opportunities to explore creativity, organization, and teamwork. Training is provided, and no experience is necessary!
