Catie's Closet
Greater Lowell Technical High School is proud to announce our community partnership with Catie’s Closet.
The mission of Catie’s Closet has been, first and foremost, to honor the spirit and courage of Catie Bisson, a Lowell High School graduate who passed away in 2010 of a rare, connective tissue disorder, and secondly, to preserve the dignity, courage, and optimism of students who experience financial hardship.
Founded by her mother, Anne Marie Bisson, Catie’s Closet began in 2010 at Lowell High School. Filled with donated clothing, toiletries, and miscellaneous items, Catie’s Closet strives to help students focus on their education and future by providing for fundamental needs to clothing and personal items of which they may be in need but cannot afford.
Catie was inspirational to all during her short life. Not only did she, herself, face a lifetime of what seemed to be insurmountable obstacles and did so with dignity, optimism, spirit and grace, but Catie also looked beyond her own experiences, noticed and brought to the attention of others the plight of students less fortunate within the Lowell community.
Students or parents can contact instructors or guidance counselors for more information and how to take advantage of Catie’s Closet at Greater Lowell Technical High School.
If you are interested in helping this great cause, all donations should be taken to the Catie’s Closet Donation Center located at 28 Loon Hill Road, Dracut, MA. The Center is open 9-5, Monday through Friday.
